Flood meadow and mill leat restoration

The site was a disused fish farm with 18 steep-sided ponds within the flood plain. To prevent fish escaping during floods the ponds had been contained within earth embankments, which reduced the floodwater storage capacity of the valley and acted as a major obstruction to floodwater flow. Since ceasing operation the fish farm had become derelict and dangerous.
