Land
in the town centre was developed to provide a lakeside park. Existing parkland
elements and a semi-derelict 18th century lake were restored and extensive tree
removal and management was carried out. Adjacent derelict land was also developed
to provide pedestrian and cycle links between the lakeside park, housing areas,
the church and the town centre.
