Meridian, Southampton: On this scheme Arthur Amos Associates were required to provide urban design and landscape architectural services, including coordination of environmental impact assessments, and landscape and visual impact assessments; for a high density, high, medium and low rise, residential (Approximately 700 units) and mixed use, city centre development. The application site lay within the maritime flood zone (EA classified as “significant flood risk”).
Arthur Amos Associates’ input included guidance on urban design methodology, layouts, massing, flood management and escape strategies, townscape character including defensible space, homezones, traffic management, roof and vertical gardens, sustainable drainage, street tree retention and management, ground water salinity management, public open space, play provision, sea wall and promenade design, hard and soft landscape, and water features.
